Description
The novel is written as a series of diary entries, letters, and newspaper articles, giving the story a sense of realism and suspense. It follows Jonathan Harker, a young English solicitor who travels to Transylvania to help Count Dracula purchase property in England. However, Harker soon realizes he is a prisoner in Dracula’s castle and that the Count is a supernatural being—an undead vampire who feeds on human blood.
Dracula eventually travels to England, bringing terror to London as he preys upon innocent victims, including Lucy Westenra, a young woman who falls mysteriously ill after being attacked. Dr. Van Helsing, a Dutch professor and expert on the supernatural, gathers a group—including Jonathan Harker, his fiancée Mina Murray, and Lucy’s friends—to hunt and destroy Dracula before he spreads his curse further.
After a tense chase, the group tracks Dracula back to Transylvania, where they ultimately defeat him, restoring peace and putting an end to his reign of terror.
