Description

“Five Have Plenty of Fun” is the 14th book in Enid Blyton’s classic Famous Five series—an adventurous tale full of mystery, mischief, and seaside suspense. First published in 1955, this story brings back the beloved gang: Julian, Dick, Anne, George (Georgina), and their clever dog Timmy, as they plunge into another exciting, danger-filled mission.

Story Overview:

It’s the summer holidays, and the Famous Five are staying at Kirrin Cottage with George and her scientist father, Uncle Quentin. Uncle Quentin is working on a top-secret scientific project that could benefit the entire country—but someone wants to steal his research.

To keep his work safe, a fellow scientist sends his daughter, Berta, to hide with the Five. Berta must go into hiding because dangerous spies are after her father—and they think kidnapping Berta will make him hand over his research.

But Berta is not thrilled about hiding out at Kirrin, especially when the Five suggest she pretend to be a boy for her own safety. George (who already prefers being treated like a boy) doesn’t like Berta much and isn’t too pleased about sharing her space—or Timmy!

Things take a shocking turn when the villains kidnap the wrong girl—they think George is Berta!

What Happens Next?

The Five quickly realize that George has been taken by mistake. With no time to lose, the children band together—tracking clues, sneaking around, and using all their wits to find out where George is being held. They brave danger, face down shady characters, and race against time to rescue their friend and stop the bad guys.
